Data Samples

Not sure if our service can help you? Here are a few samples of data we have, as well as how you can use them to pick your hunting season / unit.

We have two formats. One is for Antelope, Deer and Elk. It includes the publically available unit / season data you can see without subscribing to the site.

But summary information doesn't really help you pick a unit or season to apply for.

This first sample is a unit / season sample for an Unit 13 Archery season.

It contains all the available information I can find for the Season and Unit in question. This can be useful if you are looking for a unit that is consistently successful, has low hunter pressure, or if you are interested in maybe a cow hunt.

This sample summarizes the data for the unit.

Deer and Elk units have herd size, and male / female ratio's. The averages are a rounded off, average of all the data we have. Please keep in mind that not all units have hunts for every season.

This next graphic is useful if you are trying to figure out your huntcode drawing odds.

We show you how many tags were allocated for last years draw, the number of resident and non-resident first choice applicants, as well as how many points people used to apply for their first choice. The top of this report page also provides a process or formula to figure out your huntcode drawing odds.

This next format is for premium animals. Those are Moose, Mt Goat, and Bighorn Sheep.

These animals use a weighted preference point system. It is almost impossible to come up with a formula to figure that one out, so I'm showing you how many people are applying and with how many weighted points.

And if this wasn't enough, we also show you which (Antelope, Deer and Elk) huntcodes had tags left over after the first choice selection was complete. Those tables are intended to help you figure out which huntcodes to select as your 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices.

All of this for less than a haircut.
