Map Scouting with GIS
This video shows you how to use free GIS applications and servers to map scout your area of interest. While the video does discuss Colorado specific hunting GIS data, the basic GIS map scouting techniques discussed can be used anywhere in the United States and Canada.

| I have spent the last 3 days (almost non stop) using the CD (Map Scouting with GIS) reviewing my Elk hunting area I have hunted several times in the past. Wow is all I can say. I have found water sources, meadows etc. that I have walked right by because I did not know they were there. Now I have marked them, have GPS coordinates to scout them and most importantly found the quickest and easiest way to get to them. The tilt option really puts things into perspective and the ability to click the topo on and off is great.
